Metro-Detroit has many rentals that are available. If you are interested in finding a rental property, it is important to understand that the process can take up to a month. Here are the steps that we recommend taking when it comes to finding a rental property.
Once you have reviewed the below list, please feel free to contact us by CLICKING HERE so we can go over any other questions you may have.
- After picking up the rental list, drive by the houses that you find of interest. If there is a house you are interested in, you must call our office to schedule an appointment to see the inside of the house.
- After seeing the inside and outside of the property, you must come to our office, fill out a rental application and a credit check form.
- Note that there is a credit check fee of $50.00; this is non-refundable.
- When filling out the rental application form please bring the following items with you:
- State Identification or Drivers License
- Social Security Card
- Proof of income, 1 month worth of most recent pay stubs
- Proof that you will have no problems obtaining lights, gas & water in your name
- Previous landlord and contact number for your landlord
- In the credit check, we will determine the following:
- If you have given any false identification or social security numbers
- If you are having trouble in getting utilities turned on in your name
- If you have been evicted or sent to court within the past 3 years
- Verification of your previous landlord identity (applications listing friends, family members or false names as your landlord will be rejected).
- TO PASS OUR CREDIT CHECK IT IS IN YOUR BEST INTEREST TO BE HONEST AND UP-FRONT WITH US, WE DON’T WANT TO WASTE YOUR TIME OR OURS AND REMEMBER THE CREDIT CHECK FEE IS NON-REFUNDABLE.
- If you are approved, you will be asked to come into our office to fill out the rental agreement, bring in the security deposit required and receive paperwork to get utilities turned on in your name.
- Once all utilities are on in your name, our office does a complete rehab of the house. This process may take up to 1 MONTH before you can occupy the property.
- During that time, you are responsible for payment of the first month’s rent.
- You cannot receive keys until both the first month’s rent and the security deposit have been paid.
